Everything New and Coming Soon to Christchurch in 2027
After 15 years and hundreds of millions of dollars, Te Kaha opened in March.
But everyone knows about the stadium. What about the Christchurch projects people don’t?
In this episode of the Property Academy podcast, Ed and Andrew count down 5 projects coming to Christchurch, ranked by cost, and what each could mean for NZ property investors:
● The City to Sea Pathway, an $28 million, 11 kilometre path from the central city to New Brighton, inside the 600 hectare Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor
● The Downtown precinct, a $130 million privately funded project with apartments, shops, and restaurants
● Rolleston, with $180 to $200 million of new roads and an $85 million town centre
● Ahumahi, about $700 million of industrial land that could bring more employers and more tenants
● Mass Rapid Transit, a $3 to $4 billion project that is the biggest and furthest away
Plus the honest reality check: why the Christchurch Cathedral is still fenced off after 15 years.
