From the moment we met Ashish (our first point of contact), we knew we were in capable hands. Having approached four other building companies, we ultimately chose Homes by Parklane for the unbeatable balance of price, quality, and transparency — and they exceeded our expectations at every stage. We designed a 3-bedroom, high-spec home with a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. While the floor area is typically suited to a 4-bedroom layout, Ashish helped us customise it to create larger living spaces, a walk-in pantry, upgraded kitchen with a sleek black stone benchtop, a tiled ensuite, and a well-designed wardrobe with built-in storage. We also had thoughtful upgrades like USB power outlets, gas cooking and hot water, and a partition in the lounge area for a future feature door. From a landscaping standpoint, we had everything completed externally — from pathways and edging to some planting, bark gardens, and standalone gates. Every detail was handled with care and precision. As someone with over a decade of experience in the construction industry as a certifying plumber and gasfitter, I was genuinely impressed with their workmanship, attention to detail, and the quality of finishing. These aren’t cookie-cutter homes — they build to a standard that reflects pride and experience. Even when we faced challenges with the Christchurch City Council, such as needing a resource consent due to a minor design variance, Homes by Parklane handled every hiccup professionally and kept the build moving forward. Their team’s experience in navigating bureaucracy really helped reduce our stress. Communication throughout was flawless — Ashish was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to deliver within our budget. Mary from their office was equally responsive, ensuring we were always in the loop. Their professionalism, pricing, and integrity stood out compared to other builders. Now that we’ve moved in, we can say with confidence that the home is everything we envisioned and more. It’s functional, solid, and beautiful — and our visitors are constantly impressed. We’re proud to call this our home. If you’re considering building in Christchurch, I strongly recommend Homes by Parklane. A special thanks to James Maher for his excellent communication, knowledge, and helpful advice, and to Mary Herman for her outstanding customer service. James went above and beyond, even helping us choose the right section at Westwood before the developer released them online. At that point, we had not even signed an agreement, but he was still kind and willing to help. Overall, our experience with Homes by Parklane was fantastic. There are always small things that can come up during the home-building process, but when you have the right people alongside you, you are truly in good hands. After all, you're not building a paper boat, it’s natural to expect a few bumps along the way. If you're looking for a hassle-free builder who will make things right, then you are in the right place with Homes by Parklane. Compared to many of the larger building companies, these guys are more affordable in many ways, I say this after comparing several quotes back in 2022. They completed our home in just around 6 months, even with a Christmas break in between. We are very happy with the outcome.5/5 stars
